REG stands for Regular Electronic Giving. This facility was introduced by the LLL in 1998, to provide a way for people to give regularly to the work of the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) using the banking system electronic direct debit facility. This regular giving may be an offering to the local congregation, or it may be to support another ministry of the LCA. Giving may be fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or half yearly.
Details of transactions are kept totally confidential - no personal details are given to the congregation or treasurer. The treasurer is only advised of the total amount credited to the account for the month.
To use this facility, a REG Direct Debit Request form (DDR) must be completed and lodged with the LLL. This form gives the LLL authority to deduct the amount specified from your LLL account or your account with a financial institution, and transfer it to an LLL account held by the organisation to which you are giving.
