Senior school stage 2.
by Liz Smith.
Navigator College in Port Lincoln, SA, has received approval to commence building its Senior School expansion.
The new Senior School stage 2 build consists of two science laboratories, art studio, design and technology space, student hub, break out spaces, plus four additional general learning spaces.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $3.5 million, partially funded through a grant from the Commonwealth Government with the remainder through loans with the LLL.
The dedicated Senior School expansion will provide Navigator College students with state-of-the-art facilities to support their emerging independence as adult learners.
This facility will give the College the capacity to deliver interdisciplinary learning in an authentic way, allowing our learners to effectively engage with collaboration between sciences as well as between the disciplines of science and art. The positioning of science, art and design within the same facility will greatly enhance the effectiveness of this vision and the richness of learning opportunities.
The strategic plan for this amazing building has the project build listed to start in early 2020, with staff and students being able to access and benefit from these facilities from the start of the 2021 school year.
