LLL Non-Associates can receive faster payments on the New Payments Platform (NPP), while Associates can also make* payments via NPP.

Australians are able to transfer money in near real-time – putting an end to frustrating payment delays.

If you want to transfer money to a friend or family member (once they're registered with faster payments on the NPP) you don't need to ask for their BSB and account/facility number, and just need their registered mobile phone number or email address (their PayID®).

Transactions are finalised almost instantaneously through the NPP, enabling payments in near real-time 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the entire year.

Traditional transfers via BSB and account/facility number transfers are still available, but will take around two days for the transfer to be completed.

 Benefits of NPP

  • Fast – the NPP allows you to make* and receive payments in near real-time, with funds available to the recipient almost immediately
  • 24/7– the NPP is always open for business. You can make* and receive payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Simple addressing – a system within the NPP called PayID enables you to easily send payments to any registered recipient. Your PayID is your own unique identifier and could be a mobile phone number, email address or ABN. Note: when using PayID, the system will show you the recipient's name before you authorise your payment, so you know you're sending it to the right person. Read more about PayID.
  • Data enriched – the ability to send more complete remittance information with payments
  • Secure – the NPP is extremely secure. It is monitored 24 hours, seven days a week and is certified to the highest data security standards
  • PayTo® – make* and manage one-off or recurring payments with the secure management system PayTo.
