The congregation of picturesque St Mark's Lutheran Church, Caloundra Queensland, celebrated their 55th anniversary with a much-needed new roof.
Situated just a short walk from the beachfront, over five decades of exposure to the elements – not to mention the presence of asbestos - made the renovation a necessity.
"With this generous response from LLL and our members, we celebrated our 55th Anniversary with a new roof and new altar, and were debt free after six months," Pastor Ray Morris said.
"We are thankful for the generosity of so many, and the unexpected grant from LLL, to complete this project and to continue our mission and ministry at St Mark's Caloundra."
Missional partnership
We were pleased to be able to offer a Special Ministry Grant of $5,000 toward the project thanks to our missional partnership with our customers.
LLL Board Chair Steve Podlich, CEO Ross Smith and Chief Relationship Officer Scott Ross were able to see the renovations for themselves not long after the project's completion.
The trio was warmly welcomed by the St Mark's congregation as part of LLL's effort to inform our supporters about our transition to a Religious Charitable Development Fund (RCDF).
