For much of 2024, LLL has been on a journey with you, our supporters. A journey of change, commitment, and connection.
It all started back in November 2023, when we announced LLL's decision to transition from an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI) to a Religious Charitable Development Fund (RCDF). While the shift marked the beginning of a new chapter, it has required thoughtful action from each and every one of our customers — individuals, families, and organisations alike.
We understand that this transition hasn't been easy. Some of our long-time supporters have had to adjust and, in some cases, withdraw a portion of their deposits due to this regulatory shift. We respect those decisions and are deeply grateful for their continued trust and support throughout this process.
At the same time, we've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of mission-hearted loyalty from so many of you. Your decision to retain your deposits, in the spirit of supporting the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ), fuels our ongoing purpose. Quite literally, LLL would not exist without your support. As we finalise this transition in early 2025, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your patience, understanding, and unwavering commitment to this cause we all believe in.
Meeting you where you are
When we announced the RCDF change, we knew it would raise questions from depositors, and we wanted to be there for our supporters in the most personal way possible. So, we packed our bags and hit the road! From Perth, Western Australia, to Ipswich, Queensland, LLL's leadership team and Board members embarked on a national roadshow to connect with our supporters face-to-face.
We visited congregations, parishes, and local communities, answering questions, sharing stories, and listening to you. It wasn't just about explaining the change - it was about celebrating the people who make LLL what it is; a community bound by faith and a shared mission. Each stop brought us closer to the heart of our mission and reminded us of the trust and support we share with our customers from coast to coast.
We are grateful for the many relationships we formed and strengthened throughout this year.
