Years of hard work and dedication have paid off for Lutheran Aged Care Albury, with its Dellacourt site transformed following the completion of an extensive redevelopment.
The 122-bed facility remained operational throughout the four-and-a-half-year redevelopment that has delivered wonderful new amenities for residents and improved efficiencies for staff.
"This was a $29 million dollar project, but it has been so worth it," CEO Wendy Rocks said.
"The finished product is beautiful inside and out and has been cleverly designed. The outside areas of gardens, courtyards and green areas uphold our reputation for lovely gardens and that is important to country people.
"I would always build new if that were possible, however, the 'bones' of the Dellacourt building were good and most of the complex was only 15 years old, so it lent itself to renovating.
"Such a project requires culture and operations management that never takes it eyes off resident needs, and staff goodwill with the right amount of communication, levity when needed, and celebration of stages of achievement.
"Pleasingly, over the period we had no resident or staff complaints, and all took a lively interest in the works."
The Dellacourt home now boasts a range of brand-new amenities including a chapel, hairdressing salon, café, a wellness centre, commercial kitchen, and a welcoming reception area.

The LLL lending team was delighted to work in partnership with Wendy and her team in support of a project that has had such a resoundingly positive impact on residents, staff and the community.
