We were delighted to welcome Darren Pope to the team as he officially began his journey as LLL's new Head of Mission Engagement.
Darren started the newly created role on Monday 13 July after completing his duties as Executive Director of Lutheran Youth of Queensland (LYQ).
After flying in from Queensland, where he will be based, Darren was warmly greeted at our North Adelaide office and will spend two weeks there familiarising himself with the team.
LLL CEO Karen Pienaar was on hand to welcome Darren.
Karen said:
"We are thrilled to welcome Darren to the team.
"He brings deep knowledge and extensive experience of the Lutheran community, and his values are closely aligned to those that we share at LLL.
"Darren is well known for his boundless enthusiasm and unwavering dedication, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead as he works to strengthen our mission and deepen our connection with Lutheran and broader Christian communities."

Darren said:
"It is my great joy and privilege to join the LLL Australia team as Head of Misson Engagement.
"Since 1921, LLL has been blessed to partner with the Lutheran Church of Australia to help see God's love come to life. Congregations, as communities of grace, come to life when people gather around God's Word and share the good news of the Gospel with their community.
"Through God's work, He fills our hearts with hope and encourages each of us to go and serve others in the world. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve congregations across Australia.
"I intend to listen deeply to the narrative of congregations, local context and needs, dreams and vision, and grow a partnership of advocacy and support for mission growth.
"LLL is committed to helping congregations to think strategically and be innovative in their mission to amplify their community impact. I welcome the opportunity to walk with you in mission as your community of grace brings God's love to life."
