Everhope Church has found an inspiring place to grow after dropping anchor in Secret Harbour, south of Perth, WA.
Everhope, a church plant of Rockingham Mandurah Lutheran Church, was founded in 2021 and now holds Sunday services at the Secret Harbour Surf Life Saving Club.
With the support of a $25,000 LLL Mission Outreach Grant, the larger worship space has helped Pastor Matt Schubert's congregation welcome new people, create outreach opportunities and continue to grow.
"We are seeing the Holy Spirit at work in many ways throughout our congregation and community … we are deeply thankful to LLL for partnering with us through this grant," Church Administrator Martin Noller said.

Room to grow
"This support has helped provide a place where people can gather, belong, hear the gospel, and grow in faith ... this venue has been a significant blessing to Everhope, as it is in the heart of the community we are reaching," Martin continued.
"The Surf Club venue has played an important role in our growth by providing a neutral and approachable space where newcomers, including those unfamiliar with church, feel comfortable to attend and explore faith.
"As we continue to participate in God's mission in Secret Harbour and the surrounding region, we remain grateful for LLL's investment in this ministry."

Outreach opportunities
Everhope welcomed nine new members into its congregation in June alone, with two adults baptised, and many others attending worship for the first time.
The congregation has also been encouraged by its Alpha course, with 12 people with little or no Christian background taking the opportunity to explore faith, ask questions and encounter the gospel.
A Good Friday Reflective Walk this year was well attended, providing a meaningful opportunity for people to engage with the story of Christ's death and resurrection.
