Good food, fundraising and fellowship were on the menu at the 2026 LYQ Appeal Dinner that raised over $40,000.
Lutheran Youth of Queensland's cornerstone annual fundraising event took place at Brisbane's Victoria Park venue on Saturday 30 May, with LLL Chief Relationship Officer Scott Ross on hand to support our Platinum Partners.
In one of his last duties as LYQ Executive Director before taking up his role as Head of Mission Engagement at LLL, Darren Pope addressed the gathering.
"The vision of LYQ is simple, but it's profound: LYQ is here to grow connected, hope-filled people," Darren said.
"In a world where young people can feel more anxious, more isolated, and more spiritually adrift, our vision is not a 'nice-to-have' - it is crucial.
"I believe that young people crave, and are seeking, social and spiritual connection now, more than ever before."

LYQ serves more than 21,000 young people, their families and communities annually through camps, school partnerships and leadership pathways that foster faith formation, belonging, resilience and purpose.
Scott was honoured to make a short presentation at the dinner highlighting the importance of our missional partnership with LYQ.

Proud Platinum Partners
"The Platinum Partnership with LLL Australia reflects a deeply aligned mission and shared commitment to the Lutheran Church," Darren said.
"Through its support of congregations, schools, and camping ministry, LLL enables practical investment into LYQ's work and strengthens the broader ministry ecosystem.
"Together, LYQ and LLL are investing in the next generation - growing faith, strengthening communities, and sharing the hope of Jesus across Queensland."
Supporters can still donate as LYQ seeks to reach its 2026 target of $75,000.
